About the Collection

This private collection was established by my father in 1974, reflecting his lifelong appreciation for Stephen King’s work. By the time of his passing in 2001, he had acquired hardcover editions of most of King’s published works. Since then, I have continued his legacy by carefully expanding the collection and completing the set of published hardcover titles.

What Is Included

The collection focuses on hardcover editions and related collector editions, including core fiction, non-fiction, children's books, illustrated editions, boxed sets, limited editions, and other notable hardcover releases.

A title may appear as owned, missing, or reference only, depending on its role in the collection inventory.

Purpose

Why This Catalogue Exists

My father was an avid book reader, and a collector of many works. When he passed in 2001, I took his Stephen King collection and carried the torch of adding to the collection. This expanded collection exists as a legacy to my father.

Identification

Edition and Printing Verification

Edition verification may use multiple identifying points, including the copyright statement, number line, dust-jacket price, gutter code, ISBN, publisher details, binding indicators, and other physical evidence.

Verification status reflects the evidence currently recorded for that specific copy. A later printing, book-club edition, limited edition, or inconclusive copy is documented as such rather than treated as a first edition by default.

Photography

Images and Evidence

Published images may include the front cover, dust-jacket flap, title page, copyright page, gutter code, and other identifying details.

Background removal is used selectively for presentation. Original source images remain part of the administrative record, while processed images support a consistent public display.

Rarity

How Rarity Is Used

Rarity labels organize the collection into practical collector-facing groups. Rare, Very Rare, and Ultra Rare identify copies that deserve greater attention within the catalogue.

Rarity is presented as a collection classification rather than a guarantee of market value. Condition, edition, printing, completeness, demand, and current market evidence can all affect value.
